I removed the interior door panel on my ford freestar 04 to access the power window motor however it looks like the motor is connected and canonly be accessed by removing the whole door panel. Is there a way to replace the window motor assembly without taking off the outer door panel. Remove 2 screws from either side of door pane 4 now just the clips hold it on pull panel off at one corner and work your way around until its completely removed. Remove the 2 bolts from handle 2 from picture.

Look through where door handle was and remove another screw just above where the handle was. The door panels are made of a less than hard strong material and will brake apart easily especially if they are older. Unscrew the two screws holding the handle on the bottom of the tailgate then using a long screwdriver pry the clips loose on the inside holding the panel on. The trick is to slide a pry bar or even two is better one on ether side of the clip and force the pin out.

The clips go all the way around the lower three sides and the top will lift off the sill.
